Citilog will deploy its Automatic Incident Solution in the tunnels of the E6 Ranheim Værnes highway The E6 between Ranheim and Værnes is a motorway currently under construction, which will connect Trondheim city center with the airport. ACCIONA, the turnkey contractor, is upgrading the 3 existing tunnels (which are 1.7 km, 1.8 km, and 3.9 km long) and has awarded SICE with the contract for the implementation of the electromechanical and safety systems. And SICE has selected Citilog for the deployment of the AID (Automatic Incident Detection) in the tunnels.
The Citilog solution will analyze the video inputs provided by a total of 206 cameras, which will be installed in the 3 double tunnels, with the goal of warning the operators of the tunnels when a relevant incident happens in them. Citilog Incident Management solution provides not only the highest detection rate and lowest false alarm rate, but also the shortest detection time. Alerting the operators with a short response period is crucial to enable them to take the necessary action. BenefitsCitilog’s ability to tailor its solution and services to the need of the project is of great relevance for SICE, especially in large systems where multiple technologies are integrated. For this project, SICE benefits from: SICE and Citilog have a long and successful relationship, built on the deployment of complex AID (Automatic Incident Detection) systems in multiple tunnels around the world. This project is a fantastic opportunity to prove the effectiveness of a video-based AID system in a country where it is not the norm.
